COMPANY STARTED

Crep Protect started, and like every product, it started with the idea and grew from there.

It always starts with an idea – that’s the part that many people say is the hardest, but with Crep Protect, it was probably the easiest part! Protecting our kicks is something, as sneakerheads, we always wanted, but there was never a truly effective way of doing so, so when we sat together and sketched out the idea, it was truly a no-brainer if there ever was one. From that day, we can say that Crep Protect was born, and we vowed to never look back from that moment.

THE CREP PROTECT FORMULA WAS PERFECTED AFTER A FULL YEAR OF R&D

After a year of Research and Development we perfected the formula that would be the backbone of the company.

We’ve probably said it a million times, but we’ll say it again because it’s true – everyone here at Crep Protect is a sneakerhead through and through. Not only did we want to protect our kicks we wanted to do so without altering the look or feel of our beloved shoes. That was the main goal we had going into Research and Development and if we couldn’t achieve it, we wouldn’t bring you anything less. With a lot of hard work we perfected the formula you use today – complete protection.

CREPPROTECT.COM MAKES ITS FIRST SALE

With the formula concocted and a plan laid out, we take our product out to the public and we make our first sale out of what we hope to be many.

You could probably forgive us for thinking we’d done all of the hard work after we perfected the formula, but then we realised we had an even bigger task on the board – spread the word and get sneakerheads to buy Crep Protect. Like most companies, we started an online selling portal that was cheap and cheerful, but it did the job. It wasn’t long after that we made our first sale and the real grind began. With Crep Protect officially out in the world we had to show and prove.

CREP PROTECT MAKES ITS FIRST SALE TO A KEY UK SNEAKER RETAILER

Crep Protect goes from a product that we’re selling on our own, to being sold in stores after we make our first sale to a major UK retailer.

After a while, we started to pick up steam, and our product was flying off of our e-shelves, but the real test of a product is taking it from one that’s sold online, to one that is worthy of being in a real retail store next to the big boy brands. Luckily, one of those retail spaces took notice – Fusey, owned by Joey Essex. Fusey was the first store to take the leap of faith with Crep Protect and stock us on their shelves.

THE FIRST CP THRONE (CLEANING STATION) WAS HAND CRAFTED

The first Crep Protect Throne (cleaning station) was crafted to give customers wherever we went a chance to experience Crep Protect live.
Crep Protect is and has always been a product that you need to see in action to really get a feel for how good it is. To date, there isn’t one person who has seen Crep Protect in action who hasn’t walked away with a purchase, so we were searching for an interactive way to bring Crep Protect to people in real time. During a presentation to Foot Locker, we brainstormed and came up with the Crep Protect Throne – a great and classic way of showing our product in action.

RELEASE OF MULTI LANGUAGE CREP PROTECT CANS, ALLOWING CREP PROTECT TO BREAK INTO 19 EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

Multi-language Crep Protect cans were created allowing us to break into Europe and make sales to retail stores across the pond.

Crep Protect continued to grow, and continued to be ordered by retail establishments in the United Kingdom, but it wasn’t until we received an order from Foot Locker Europe that we realised that people who spoke English are the only ones who could read our cans! Creating multi-language Crep Protect cans not only allowed us to sell our products in other countries, but also allowed us to speak to our customers in their mother tongue and spread our message even further.

CREP PROTECT LAUNCHES THE CURE PREMIUM CLEANING KIT

We launch our first Cure Premium Cleaning Kit, adding to our product catalogue and spreading our expertise into other areas of shoe care.

As sneakerheads, we knew that the Crep Protect Spray was the backbone of our company, but there were different ways in which we could and wanted to care for our shoes. The idea for the Cleaning Kit came about, the necessary Research and Development went down, and when we came out of the lab, we had our own formula for what we call The Cure, and the Crep Protect Cleaning Kit was put together. We knew it would be popular, and from our sales, we were absolutely right.

CREP PROTECT OPENS UP SALES IN THE US

Crep Protect starts selling our products in the United States after manufacturing there, giving us a chance to get a real foothold in the USA.

It wasn’t only an aim of ours to have our products being sold in the United States, but we wanted to have Crep Protect on the right shelves, not just every random shelf that we could find. We reached out to Tier Zero retailers and the most influential streetwear and sneaker outlets, and of course, they loved Crep Protect and wanted to stand behind the brand. It wasn’t long before Crep Protect was almost as big in the USA as it is here in the UK.

CREP PROTECT STARTS US MANUFACTURING OPERATION

Crep Protect starts manufacturing in the United States so that we can get our product to our US customers in an even timelier manner than we already did.

We started to get many requests and orders for our products in the United States, and we felt that to not only service these orders, but give the American customer base something they could have trust in, we needed to start producing Crep Protect in the USA. From our research we knew that American customers love the “Made in America” tag on their products, so we did what we had to do to have that tag on our cans, and have the claim be completely true.

CREP PROTECT LAUNCHES ITS FIRST COLLABORATION WITH SIZE ? , ONE OF THE UKS PREMIER SNEAKER STORES . NICE KICKS SOON FOLLOWS, WITH A 1200 BOX SETS – LIMITED RELEASE, STOCKED IN TEIR 0 STORES ALL OVER THE WORLD

Our first collaboration with size?, then Nice Kicks follow, turning us from a brand that other people loved, into one they’d be willing to put their name on officially.

It goes without saying that size? is one of, if not the biggest name in kicks in the United Kingdom. More than just your every day, around every corner shoe store, size? represents the real sneakerhead. With that being understood, when size? and Crep Protect came together to create a collaboration, we knew that it would only increase our reach and our brand recognition tenfold. The same went for our Nick Kicks collaboration. From here, we were starting to reach goals we’d never imagined.

CREP PROTECT OPENS ITS NEW CENTRAL EUROPEAN HUB IN BRUSSELS

Our central Europe Hub in Brussels opens, letting is reach out even further and build connection with more retail stores throughout Europe in a timely and convenient manner.

With the Crep Protect name growing across Europe, many more major companies wanted to stock our products on their shelves, and as you know, Europe is a vast continent, so getting Crep Protect to the right people on time was important for us to achieve. That is why we opened our central European hub – so that not only could we provide retail stores with a quality product, but a quality product, on time, and in a way that spoke for how we run our company as a whole – smoothly.

CREP PROTECT BECOMES FASTEST SELLING ACCESSORY FOR BIGGEST UK RETAILER

Crep Protect proved to be popular, and we become the fastest selling accessory for one of the biggest UK retailers for a product like ours.

Our name continued to grow, the Crep Protect rep continued to get bigger, and all of these sales allowed us to really expand and spread our wings. We didn’t want to rest on what we had achieved, so we reinvested, growing our social media reach, and started to go to regional sneaker events across the globe, spreading the Crep Protect Commandments, and getting to talk to and meet sneakerheads in their back yards instead of just in ours.

CREP PROTECT GOES GLOBAL – OPENING UP IN AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND / CHINA / HONK KONG / WESTERN EUROPE / ASIA / CANADA / NORTH AMERICA / SCANDINAVIA

Crep Protect goes global – spreading into Australasia, Asia, Western Europe, and North America, just to name a few territories.

Growing a company and getting your products into other territories can sound like something you can’t wait to do, but logistically it was a bit of a nightmare! We went from selling one can on our online store, to getting orders from all over the world, with requests for cans in different languages, in different quantities, and at times we couldn’t control. We took a second, took a deep breath, put our heads down, and did the work necessary to spread Crep Protect even further.

CREP PROTECT LAUNCHES ITS BRAND AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

In an effort to reach out to people we like, and who are fans of our product, we launch our Brand Ambassador program.

It’s one thing to stand at the top of the mountaintop and proclaim that your product is the best, and it’s another to have the people saying it for you. A good ad can spread your message, but having someone who matters within whatever culture you’re a part of spreading the word for you is invaluable. That’s why we started the Brand Ambassador program in the USA – to get key influencers to spread the Crep Protect Commandments to the people who listen to them, and the real people who’d love the product.

CREP PROTECT PRESENTS SNEAKERNESS – EUROPEAN SNEAKER CONVENTION 2015 AND BECOMES ITS OFFICIAL CLEANING BRAND

Something that many brands wish they could do, we finally did – Crep Protect presents our first sneaker convention – Sneakerness Europe!

Even though Twitter, Instagram and all of the other social media outlets are a good way to touch the consumer, there is no better way in the world to do that than to do it in person. We know this, and every other major brand does, so it was only natural that we find a way to put our money where out mouths were. We not only wanted to be a part of the burgeoning sneakerhead culture in Europe, but be one of the driving forces behind it, so partnering with Sneakerness and presenting events was a no brainer.

CREP PROTECT LAUNCHES THE ULTIMATE SHOE CLEANING WIPES

Further adding to our product arsenal, Crep Protect launches our Cleaning Wipes, giving our customers something they’ve been asking for for a long time.

Crep Protect is not only a brand that wants to protect, but it’s a brand that stands for evolution. Part of that evolution is not resting on our laurels, and continuing to improve our products, and, create new ones. That’s why we created the Crep Protect Wipes. We listen to our customers, and they asked for a way to clean their kicks while they’re on the go, and asked for a way to clean minor dirt, so we went to the drawing board and came up with Crep Protect Wipes – a smash for the sneakerhead toolkit.

CREP PROTECT REACHES FINALS OF THE DRAPERS FOOTWEAR & ACCESSORIES AWARDS 2015. NOMINATED FOR BEST NEW BUSINESS & BEST INNOVATION IN FOOTWEAR

Something we never thought we’d achieve but we’re proud to say we did, at Drapers Footwear & Accessories Awards 2015, we reach the finals.

Normally, awards of this kind are won by footwear brands, so to be a young accessory brand and to receive a nomination was more than a blessing. Of all of our achievements, this is one of the ones that felt more like a signal of acceptance from the big boys. We got a chance to suit up, get our freshest kicks out, and rep Crep Protect, rubbing shoulders with brands we can only hope to emulate one day. Hopefully this is just the first of many nominations and awards in out future.

CREP PROTECT SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH NBA INC TO RELEASE 6 COLLABORATIVE TEAM CANS

Once again, reaching goals we could have never imagined for ourselves, Crep Protect signs an exclusive deal with the one and only National Basketball Association.

Basketball and the sneakerhead community go hand in hand. It’s almost like music and speakers. The NBA has always been one of the biggest and most viewed canvases for shoe brands to show off what they do, so when we got the sign-off from the NBA to use six of their team logos on our cans, it was a major sign of acceptance. If you thought of Crep Protect and weren’t sure if we’d arrived before the NBA collab, there was no doubting afterwards. Shout out to the NBA for recognising our grind.

CREP PROTECT MAKES FURTHER ADVANCEMENTS IN INTERNATIONAL TERRITORIES INCLUDING UAE, PHILIPPINES AND SINGAPORE

Crep Protect spreads further – now into the United Arab Emirates, Philippines and Singapore, almost making our reach completely global.

By this point, we had a tried and tested formula for spreading our name and getting Crep Protect products out to territories we’d never been in before, so when the United Arab Emirates, Philippines and Singapore came knocking, we knew exactly what we had to do to do it right. No matter where our customers are, we never want to let them down, and we’re proud to say that as of now, we haven’t. There’s a map on our walls, and it’s almost full of Crep Protect pins. Only a few spots left to fill.

CREP PROTECT PARTNERS UP WITH REKNOWN SNEAKER CUSTOMISER SBTG TO RELEASE LIMITED EDITION CAN, 1250 CANS PRODUCED

We go from being fans of the culture, to being further entrenched with the real tastemakers after Crep Protect partners with sneaker customizer SBTG for a limited edition release.

One of the forefathers of the sneaker customization community is SBTG, and when someone like that takes the time out to reach out to you, the only thing you can say is “yes”. It doesn’t matter what the request – we were ready to make something special happen, so when he said that he wanted to create a collaboration with us, it was a no-brainer. Our respect for SBTG is huge, and after the collaboration, we’re proud to say we are one of the few brands who have got to collaborate with the man himself.
